| Sri Somanatha Maharishi's aim is to establish the culture of peace and equanimity all over the world. He does not recognize the differences in nationality and religion among people. His motto is "Man is divine" Nature power is present in all human beings in the same proportion. Being born as man it is his duty to obtain this divine potential in this life time. Persons who are able to disseminate this potential are adored by us as the Divine. Today Sri Somanatha Yogi who achieved to this state is God among the human and is striving hard to impart good health, long life, peace of mind and self confidence to the whole humanity. Even to have a glimpse of this Great Yogi is considered to be a blessing. Sri Somanatha Maharshi has broken his state of silence(Mounadasha) and penance and entered the society to develop peace and equanimity among people. He is striving incessantly and doing free service to humanity. Not knowing how to address him, people are enthralled by his sacred presence. | On completion of penance, Sri Maharshi started having visions of an indescribable nature. He did not want to believe them without personal experience. He wanted to test his yogic powers in a crowded worldly area and he selected Hyderabad for the purpose. He started showing proofs of the past, present and future of devotees, granting their wishes and giving them boons. Thus he gradually shaped and established Sri Somanatha Kshetram. In Saurashtra (present Gujarat) in India the first ever jyotirlinga (Lord Shiva incarnation in the form of a bright light) came up in ancient times according to legend. This Somanatha Kshetram of Hyderabad is the second one. And Sri Somanatha Maharshi is the same Shiva of the first jyothirlinga. That is why this Kshetram (holy place) has come up on the top of a hill amidst calm and quiet environs pleasing the mind. Without distinction of caste, creed or religion this holy place is offering solace to people asking for any type of help, devotees, yoga practitioners, and spiritual aspirants alike. The place attracts all with other activities there is a regular weekly program of bhajan (group singing of devotional songs) at 6PM every Sunday which gives immense satisfaction to devotees. |
